Crusoe Island

about as close to nature as you can get

If you’re after air-con and luxury resorts, turn back now. This is Koh Ta Kiev, inhabited only by a handful of Cambodian soldiers and fisherman. Experience the wilderness as it was meant to be and leave your iPad at home. Welcome to the jungle!

Out here at Crusoe Island we’re all about adventure and we’ve gone to great lengths to make sure you as our guest have an experience you won’t soon forget! It all starts with the journey to the island. A reasonably comfortable ride on a traditional Khmer longtail for less than an hour will deliver you to what appears to be an untouched island. Carefully navigating through a large coral reef, your captain will land on an empty beach with not a soul in sight.

From here it’s up to you to explore and find your own personal paradise. Tiny sandy tracks snake off into the jungle and lead to hidden and uniquely designed bungalows, each one entirely different to the next. North takes you over a rocky headland to small private beaches perfect for complete camping seclusion and a fishing haven. South will lead you down 1.8km of pristine white sandy beach where a keen eye will spot a plethora of secret places tucked away in the jungle.

Once you’re settled, drop by main camp for a chilled drink and discover what your new-found paradise has to offer. Many choose to take up one of the dozens of hammocks hanging along the coastline and aren’t seen again for many hours. Others prefer to entertain their idle hands with one of the many island activities offered. Lazing around all day isn’t for everyone, so we offer a range of fitness and outdoor activities to make sure those beers from the night before don’t catch up on you!

When the sun goes down the camp transforms into an oasis of light and warmth. Sit at the bar and chat to new friends, gather around the camp fire and play music or relax in the hammocks and listen to the unseen animals teeming in the jungle around you. Grab a spotlight and if you’re super-quick you might just be able to spot a wild cat in the trees!
